Specialized À la Carte Workshops Offered By Kemetic Yogi
Healing Movement Therapy (Four - One Hour Sessions) Description: Movement is the architect of the brain. We begin life moving in relationship with others. The way a baby is touched and handled exchanges rhythms of behavior, culture, and communication. As an infant moves and is moved, the body and mind work together to build a non-verbal understanding of life. Today, our society is less active and less in tune with our bodies. People have more work, and spend more time sitting in front of computers and television sets. Healing & Movement Therapy with Kamean allows participants to tap into the healing potential in the basic movements of the body in everyday work and play. In addition, we will explore the cross cultural expression and energy of the movements of animals that we find in nature. The purpose of these workshops are to build 1. Self Esteem 2. Creative Self Expression & Self Awareness 3. Communication & Relationship Skills 4. Coping Skills, Health & Well Being in the participants. In this workshop, we will approach movement from the perspective of the elements (earth, air, water, fire and spirit) and the energies that those elements are attributed. Cost: $199 Level 1 & 2 Reiki Attunements (Two 2hr Sessions Per Level) Description: RA SEKHI is the name of this ancient Kemetic (Egyptian) healing art, because the practice deals with RA, the Universal Energy that sustains us all and Sekhem, which is our individual Life Force Energy (also called Chi or Ki). Ra Sekhi teaches us to be conscious of connecting our energy to the Universal Energy, being in tune with the Universe. Living in cities wears down our Sekhem and keeps us unbalanced. RA Sekhi teaches us to build and balance our vitality, our aura, and Aritu (chakras). We should be conscious of Energy, how it works, and how to manipulate it to bring balance and harmony. RA Sekhi shares this overstanding with us, as well as how to heal ourselves wholistically using prayers, chants, concentration, focus, symbols, palm healing & natural elements like crystal, oils, incense, and colors as our tools. Ra Sekhi shows us how to heal our physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental bodies. The Attunement starts you in a detox process to clean the toxins within and around you. It also works to heal past lives, and connect you to your higher self and your Spirit Guides. Participants can choose to be attuned in RA Sekhi Level I (Personal Care), Level II (Practioner) or both. Level I must be completed in order to be attuned in Level II. COST: $125/Level I or $199/Level I & II Basic Foot & Hand Reflexology For Everyday Wellness (Two 90min Sessions For Both Hands And Feet - Four Sessions In Total) Description: Reflexology is the ancient practice of applying pressure to the feet and hands utlilizing specific thumb, finger and hand techniques with or without the use of oil or cream. It is based on a system of meridian (energy) zones and reflex areas that correlate to organs and systems in the body. In reflexology practice, technique is applied to the relevant reflex area(s) to prompt a change in the related part of the body. Research has demonstrated positive effects on several reflex areas and their reflected parts of the body. In general terms, the benefits of reflexology have to do with the reduction of stress. Because the feet and hands help set the tension level for the rest of the body, they are an easy way to interrupt the stress signal and reset homeostasis, the body's equilibrium. Cost: $125/Hand, $125/Feet, $199/Hands & Feet Kookin with Kamean -The Basics Of Vegan & Living Food Preparation (Six 90min Sessions) Description: Have you ever wanted to prepare/cook “vegan” cuisine but thought that you would be limited, your meals tasteless or that it would be too complicated? Kamean offers a fun and exciting interactive cooking environment, designed to simplify the preparation of beautiful, delicious and nutritious dishes. The primary objective of this class series is to acquaint participants with the fundamentals of vegan/raw food preparation, safety and hygiene issues. In addition, it is also aimed at introducing categories of different plant-based foods and food groups as well as the aesthetics and nutritive value of plant-based foods and how to prepare them. Cost: $399 Altar Work - Building, Charging & Maintaining Your Personal Altar (Four 90min Sessions) Description: Much like in ancient times, many people build altars as their personal place of prayer, ritual, and meditation. Altars are one way to acknowledge the sacredness of all the space we inhabit. By acknowledging that something greater than ourselves exists, we create an environment where a sense of the sacred can be realized in our everyday lives and in ourselves. Altars don't "make" a space sacred: they work by showing us what has been there all along. What differentiates an altar from a simple grouping of objects on a table or mantle-piece is intention. Creating altars will permit you to articulate feelings and thoughts into full consciousness. Yet, as a creative process, altar building draws on unconscious thoughts and associations as well, bringing thoughts and feelings we may not have been fully aware of into the open. Beginning his altar work over ten years ago, Kamean (Kemetic Yogi) has learned the sacred work of altar building and maintenence from the temple Smai Tawi of the world reknown Queen Afua & Baba Semaj Heru. Cost: $199 Word, Sound, Power! (Mantra's & Affirmations For Manifestation) (Three 90min Sessions) Description: Spirituality meets psychology in an exploration of the esoteric practice of chanting mantras and affirmations. In this workshop, we will touch upon the origins and purpose of mantra in the context of yoga history (African & Vedic), discuss affirmations and their purpose, as well as a more modern scientific understanding of both of the practices. As we chant together, participants will be encouraged to explore the effects of mantra in their own minds and bodies, building their intuition. Many cultures around the world have their own version of the practice, in addition to focusing on the three main types of Vedic mantras most commonly encountered in yoga classes, we will also be focusing on mantras from African and Native American cultures as well. Each individual mantra we recite will be explained in terms of its spiritual significance as well as practical application. A major part of the course is for students to create their own mantras and affirmations to activate their own lives. My goal is for participants to leave with the knowledge, inspiration and confidence to incorporate mantra into their own yoga practice. Cost: $149 |
